The theme for this year's Global Game Jam was Transmission. I pitched the idea of a digital society in which the player character works a menial temp job transmitting encrypted messages by solving platforming puzzles, and was delighted to be joined by a team who wanted to help build it! Amanda Kirk, Jeremy Rhoades, Ehren Schindelar, and Abhijit Srikanth teamed up to design and build the game while I created all the audio, encompassing the audio diversifiers "Beatbox" (all audio produced by voice/parts of the body), "Toot Your Own Horn" (all sounds produced from acoustic sources), and "A Bold Choice" (music is done in a style that contradicts that of the game.) Despite having some sort of unpleasant mystery illness (Was it a virus? A sinus infection? All I know for sure is that it began on the first evening of the jam and lasted more than two weeks!) I wish I could have been physically present for more of the jam but it was a fun experience nevertheless!
